CFP (College Football Pick’em) – Official Rules of Play
Welcome to CFP
Welcome to CFP (College Football Pick’em), Mackdaddy Sports’ weekly college football prediction competition. Compete against other players by selecting the winners of featured college football games throughout the season. Every correct pick earns points, and the player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the CFP Champion.
Unlike traditional pick’em leagues that include every game, each week’s schedule consists of a random selection of games chosen by the Mackdaddy Sports League Office. Every featured game has equal value, making every pick important.
1. Eligibility
Participation is open to all registered Mackdaddy Sports members with an active account.
By submitting picks, you agree to abide by all Mackdaddy Sports rules and decisions.
2. League Format
The CFP League is played throughout the college football season.
Each event consists of:
- One weekly pick sheet
- A randomly selected schedule of featured NCAA football games
- Equal point value for every featured game
- Weekly standings
- Overall season standings
The number of featured games may vary from week to week.
3. Weekly Schedule
Each week, the Mackdaddy Sports League Office selects a random group of college football games.
Selections are based on factors including:
- Nationally ranked matchups
- Rivalry games
- Conference games
- High-profile contests
- Television schedule
- Competitive matchups
There is no guarantee that every Top 25 team or conference will appear every week.
Only games appearing on the official CFP Pick Sheet count toward league scoring.
4. Making Your Picks
For every featured game:
Select the team you believe will win the game.
No point spreads are used.
Only the outright winner matters.
Example:
Michigan vs Ohio State
Choose:
✓ Michigan
or
✓ Ohio State
5. Pick Deadline
Each game locks individually at its scheduled kickoff time.
After kickoff:
- Picks cannot be changed
- Picks cannot be added
- Unselected games become permanent missed picks
Late entries are not accepted.
6. Editing Picks
Until a game’s scheduled kickoff:
- Picks may be changed unlimited times
- Your latest saved selection becomes your official pick
Always verify that you receive:
“Your picks have been saved!”
before leaving the page.
7. Scoring
Every correctly predicted winner is worth:
1 Point
Example:
10 featured games
Correct Picks:
8
Weekly Score:
8 Points
Incorrect picks receive:
0 Points
Missed picks receive:
0 Points
Cancelled games receive:
0 Points
Games declared “No Contest” do not count toward scoring.
8. Overtime Games
If a game goes into overtime:
The official NCAA winner is considered the winning team.
Your pick remains valid.
No additional points are awarded for overtime victories.
9. Postponed Games
Games postponed before kickoff:
May remain on the schedule if completed before weekly scoring closes.
If cancelled entirely:
No points are awarded.
10. Suspended Games
If the NCAA declares an official winner:
The game counts.
If no official winner is declared:
The game is removed from scoring.
11. Weekly Standings
Players are ranked by:
- Weekly Points
- Tie-breaker (if applicable)
- League scoring order
Weekly standings update automatically after results are entered.
12. Season Standings
Season standings include every completed week.
Displayed statistics include:
- Position (POS)
- Total Points (PTS)
- Points Behind Leader (PTS BEH)
- Average Points Per Completed Week (AVG)
- Weekly Scores
The season champion is the player with the highest total points after the final week.
13. Average (AVG)
Average is calculated using:
Total Points ÷ Completed Weeks
Only officially completed weeks count toward averages.
14. Points Behind (PTS BEH)
PTS BEH represents the number of points separating a player from first place.

15. Weekly Picks Page
The Weekly Picks page displays:
- All participating users
- Every featured game
- User selections
- Weekly point totals
- Correct picks
- Incorrect picks
Completed weeks display official results automatically.
16. Pick Percentages
The pick sheet displays:
- Percentage of users selecting each team
- Overall popularity for every game
These percentages update as picks are submitted and are intended for informational purposes only.
They do not affect scoring.
17. Team Records
Each featured team displays its current win-loss record.
Records are provided for reference only.
They have no impact on scoring.
18. Game Results
After games conclude, league administrators enter official results.
Once results are finalized:
- Weekly scores update automatically
- Leaderboards recalculate
- Correct picks receive points
- Incorrect picks receive zero points
19. Missed Weeks
Players may join at any time.
Weeks not played receive:
0 Points
Missed weeks remain part of the overall season standings.
20. Ties
If multiple players finish with the same point total, the league standings use the configured league tie-breaking procedures. Unless a separate season tie-breaker has been announced, tied players will share the same competitive position, and the next ranking position will be adjusted accordingly.
21. Technical Issues
Players are responsible for:
- Submitting picks before kickoff
- Verifying picks were saved
- Maintaining internet connectivity
- Using a supported browser
Mackdaddy Sports cannot guarantee acceptance of picks submitted after a game has locked due to connectivity or device issues.
22. Fair Play
Players may not:
- Use multiple accounts
- Attempt to manipulate league results
- Share accounts
- Exploit software bugs
- Interfere with league operations
Violations may result in:
- Pick removal
- Score adjustments
- Account suspension
- League disqualification
23. League Administration
The Mackdaddy Sports League Office reserves the right to:
- Correct scoring errors
- Correct scheduling mistakes
- Replace cancelled games
- Modify featured game selections before picks open
- Resolve disputes
- Correct software or data-entry errors
- Interpret these rules when situations arise that are not specifically covered
Administrative decisions are final.
24. Rule Changes
Rules may be updated at any time to improve league operation, fairness, or gameplay. Any changes will apply prospectively unless necessary to correct a scoring or administrative error.
25. Sportsmanship
CFP is designed to provide a fun, competitive experience for all participants. Respect fellow players, enjoy the competition, and remember that every featured game counts toward your season total.
