🏁 SMX Pick’em – How It Works
Welcome to SMX Pick’em, a season-long fantasy-style game covering Supercross (SX), Motocross (MX), and the SMX Playoffs. Make your picks each event, score points based on rider performance, and compete against other players for the top spot on the leaderboard.
🏆 Series Overview
SMX Pick’em is made up of three combined series:
- Supercross (SX): 17 events
- Motocross (MX): 11 events
- SMX Playoffs: 3 events
Each series has its own points total, and all points are also combined into an overall season score.
You’ll be making picks for both classes at every event:
- 450 Class
- 250 Class
🎯 How to Play
1️⃣ Choose Your Riders
For each event and each class (450 & 250), you must pick:
- 3 riders from Tier 1
- 3 riders from Tier 2
That’s 6 riders per class, 12 total picks per event.
2️⃣ Tier System
Riders are grouped into tiers for each event based on expected performance and competitiveness.
- Tiers are event-specific – a rider’s tier may change from one event to the next.
- Tiers are based on point standings for the current event. Injured riders will be replaced by the next rider in the standings.
- The pick form shows a limited pool of riders per tier:
- Tier 1: 8 available riders
- Tier 2: 12 available riders
You can only select from the riders shown for that event.
3️⃣ No Repeat Picks (Back-to-Back Rule)
To keep the game competitive:
🚫 You cannot pick the same rider in two consecutive events (same series and class).
- Riders you used in the previous event will appear disabled/unselectable on the pick form.
- These riders are visually marked so you know why they’re unavailable.
4️⃣ Save Your Picks
- Picks lock automatically at the event start time
- Make sure to click “Save Picks” before the event begins
- After saving, you’ll see:✅ Your picks have been saved
You can view your previous picks anytime using the All Picks dropdown.
🔢 Scoring System
Base Points
Riders earn points based on their finish position in the race.
(Exact base points are set by the admin and applied consistently across all players.)
🔥 Tier Bonus & Penalties
In addition to base points, riders earn bonus or penalty points depending on how they perform relative to their tier:
| Performance vs Tier | Bonus / Penalty |
|---|---|
| Finish 1 tier higher | +5 points |
| Finish 1 tier lower | -5 points |
This rewards smart picks from lower tiers and adds risk to Tier 1 selections.
